Athletics

Kaleidoscope Academy is proud to offer many co-curricular options.  Athletics start for our 7th and 8th graders, while other clubs and extracurricular options are available for all students.  Athletics are a great way to connect with classmates and get involved with the Kaleidoscope community.  Being part of a team also helps develop lifelong skills such as teamwork and time management.  Many athletic teams and clubs meet after school.  To accommodate family and religious events all activities end before 5:30 on Wednesday evenings.

Here are our current sport offerings by season –

Softball – 7th and 8th Grade Girls
Coach: Ty Myers

Seventh and eighth grade girls softball is an opportunity for student athletes to come together and learn the game of softball with integrity.  We are committed to being constant physical, emotional, and mental teammates for each other.  Our team establishes goals throughout the season and we work with a positive work ethic and attitude.  We typically have two games per week with practices on the other weekdays after school.  The season begins in August and ends in October.  Softball at the middle school level is the perfect opportunity for a young lady to experience the game for the first time since this is not a club team as often seen in the summertime.  All skill levels are welcome.

8th Grade Girls Volleyball
Coach: Gretchen Richards

Eighth grade begins in August ending in October (seventh grade runs from March to May). Practices begin Monday, Aug. 14 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Once the season is underway, each week will consist of two games as well as after school practices. Volleyball at the middle school level is an excellent opportunity for young ladies to experience the game for the first time as well as continue developing their skills for the high school level. We look forward to working with student athletes of all abilities!

Track and Field is open to both boys and girls in 7th and 8th grade each spring beginning near the end of March and continuing through mid-May.   Success for the track and field student athlete is measured by personal improvement from meet to meet and throughout the entire season.  Coaches stress proper fundamentals in all of the events. We encourage all athletes to try new events in practice and in meets because one never knows what they will enjoy.  Athletes have the opportunity to participate in team and individual events such as long jump, high jump, shotput, and discus; running events include sprints, hurdles, medley relays and long distance (800, 1600 meters).
