I’m excited to be re-entering the field of education after a long hiatus to be at home, raising kids and CEO-ing for my family. My husband of 22 years is a middle school principal in a neighboring district where we live and our 3 great kids attend school. Grace is a senior, Jane is a freshman and Ben is an 8th grader. Over the past 15 years while I’ve been at-home, I’ve done lots of volunteering in schools and community organizations. I’ve also been a fitness instructor and yoga teacher. I continue to teach at the YMCA and at Empower Yoga downtown.
My goal at Kaleidoscope is to know and serve all kids, individually, in small groups, in and out of the classroom. I am passionate about learning and teaching others how to increase awareness of their bodies and minds to live healthier, happier lives and make a positive impact in the world around us. Self-regulation is an important skill, affecting our relationships, our classrooms and our homes.
You’ll find me on my yoga mat, listening to music, breathing deeply – to get through life. My time away from KA is spent hanging at the soccer field, riding my bike, gaming with my kids and wrapping up our Sherlock and Dr. Who family summer tv binges!
I believe that kids do well when they can. When they aren’t doing well, I want to assist in peeling away layers to find what’s getting in the way. I’m looking forward to a great year at KA.
