Mrs. Spangenberg is the Paraprofessional in the Library Media Center. Prior to joining the Roosevelt/Kaleidoscope team in 2015, she worked at Classical School with primary level reading and in the library. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Welfare from UW-Whitewater and worked in related fields until accepting a Paraprofessional position with AASD in 2001.
Mrs. Spangenberg and her husband Steve, have two adult children who attended Badger, Classical, West, UW-Madison and UW-Platteville. When not at school, she enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking, golfing, hiking and snow shoeing, reading, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She believes the library is the hub of the school. Stop in often!!
Sara Wayland – LMC Specialist
Mrs. Wayland is the Library Media Specialist at Roosevelt/Kaleidoscope. She has been in the Appleton Area School District for 19 years. Her first 7 years were at Madison Middle School where she taught 8th grade Earth Science. After receiving her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Library Science, she moved into the Library Media Center at Highlands and Badger Elementary Schools. She is excited to be back at middle school though because her passion is young adult literature!
Personally, Mrs. Wayland and her husband, Jack have two daughters. Her oldest daughter is at Carroll University and her youngest is a junior at Appleton North. This year, she is hosting a foreign exchange student from the Philippines for the entire school year. She is so excited to see what her newest daughter thinks of snow! When not in school, Mrs. Wayland loves to read (imagine that!), take her dog for a walk and go camping.
Stop into the library and ask Mrs. Wayland to point you in the direction of some great books!
